What We Need to Evaluate Your Polypropylene Material

Before getting a quote, the information you need to send us for selling polypropylene is:

  • Resin type and grade: Homopolymer, copolymer, or filled PP.
  • Form: Pellets, film, sheet, rigid parts, woven material, etc.
  • Color: Natural (unpigmented) material commands a higher value; mixed colors are evaluated separately.
  • Cleanliness: Free of contamination, food residue, moisture, or foreign material.
  • Volume: Estimated weight per load and frequency of generation.
  • Location: Pickup location in the United States.
  • Packaging: How the material is packaged or contained (Gaylords, bales, super sacks, etc.).

Steps to Get Your Polypropylene Ready for Market

To prepare polypropylene for sale, follow this guide to maximize your material’s value and avoid rejected loads.

Step 1: Separate by Grade

Keep homopolymer, copolymer, and filled grades in separate containers whenever possible. Mixed grades are harder to place and result in lower offers. Single-grade loads move faster and price better.

Step 2: Remove Contamination

Strip labels, liners, and foreign material from your scrap before it goes into storage. Keep food residue, moisture, and metal out of your loads. Contamination is the most common reason a load gets rejected or repriced downward.

Step 3: Consolidate by Color

Natural and unpigmented PP is worth more than colored or mixed material. Sort by color when your operation allows it. Even separating natural from mixed color can meaningfully improve your rate.

Step 4: Keep it Dry

Moisture reduces value and causes processing issues downstream. Store your scrap in a covered, dry area and keep it off direct ground contact. Wet loads may be declined or adjusted at the time of pickup.

Step 5: Document What You Have

A basic spec sheet: grade, form, color, estimated weight, and contamination level. The more detail you share upfront, the faster we can match your load to the right buyer.

You don’t need to process or pelletize your scrap before contacting us. We work with material in whatever form it exists in your operation.
